As a Windsor wedding photographer, my biggest hope when I agree to shoot a wedding is to get a fun, down to earth couple that I can connect with and Melanie and Wes were absolutely that couple! First of all Mel is a veterinary technician and anyone who knows me I spent many years working as a tech in the vet world, so we definitely bonded over our shared love of animals. When we shot their engagement session they were just so easy going and fun, and always laughing together. Along with a super fun group of friends their day was nonetheless than perfect, despite a couple hiccups along the way! I have never had a bride go awol in a corn field until this day, but when Mel and Wes’s kitty decided to go hide in the corn field next to their house of course it was all hands on deck to find him. Gladly he did return home later that evening safe and sound! The creative session was done on the ground of Pelee Island Winery which really is a great location for wedding photos.
They exchanged wedding vows in front of their family and friends, and even had a beer boy instead of a ring bearer * see below for funny pics. lol. Of course Sadie their sweet pup made an appearance during the ceremony and was very professional for her photos as well. The reception at beautiful Pelee island Winery , was beautifully decorated by the couple themselves! It is always going to be fun when Celebrity Music is on board! Joe and Sharon made the evening fun and entertaining for everyone there. Speeches were heartfelt and funny and there was even a little Backstreet Boys thrown in there for good measure! The dance floor quickly filled up and the party was a good one! Thank you to Mel and Wes for allowing me and Nikki to capture your special day. We wish you nothing but a lifetime of happiness, love and of course lots of fur babies!
