Justin & Brittney ~ Willistead Manor ~ Jillian Wilhelm Photography

There is something to be said about an intimate affair.  That special something is the feeling you get like you amongst people who are truly important to each other.  Its a family bond, special friendships and treasured relationships that create the unique feel of weddings like Justin and Brittneys.  They had a small, intimate wedding of around 25 people at the beautiful Willistead Manor in Walkerville.  After spending some time with with the groom and groomsmen in the morning photographing them, complete with game day pics ( go lions!!), I headed to the brides for her preceremony pictures.  Brittney just gives an air of calm about her, which maybe comes from her career as a nurse, but it was a wonderfully calm morning.  The bride and groom had their ceremony in the Paul Martin Gardens at Willistead and as always, my favourite moment is seeing the grooms face light up through my camera lens when he lays eyes on his bride for the first time and Justin did not disappoint! Vows were exchanged, the first kiss had and then we took their creative images around the property.  Guests were treated to a cocktail hour and then a fabulous meal .  Family and friends gave heartfelt speeches, the cake was cut and eaten and the bride did a lovely first dance.  In all honesty it was truly a perfect wedding.  It doesn’t matter how big or small your wedding is, what matters is it is what you dream it to be and I think Justin and Brittney did a fabulous job of creating this dream day for themselves.  I wish them a lifetime of happiness and love together, so I leave with you these beautiful words by a poet, Whitney Hanson,

They say sometime love starts with a spark.

And that might be true.

But if I were to wish you a love,

I wouldn’t wish fire for you.

You see, fire is powerful.

It burns bright then it is gone.

Its beautiful and warm,

but it doesn’t last long.

So instead of wishing you a love that burns,

I wish you love like a river that twists and turns.

It changes and flows.

It is powerful and free,

but it consistently finds its way back to the sea.

And so like the water,

I hope your love is ever growing, ever changing,

powerful and free.

And may you always find each other,

like the river finds the sea.
