Welcome to our new studio!!! Introducing Real Image Photography Portrait Studio

Back in 2011, my hubby and I went on a search for a house with something that could possibly work as a studio for me, as I was currently using my basement. We had looked at this house that had a old barn that had been transformed by the previous owner into a two car garage with an upstairs and an addition on the back.  The small addition at that time was a man cave!  We quickly turned it into a small, small studio for me to use.  A year later we decided to expand the studio and doubled the size.  It opened it up a bit, but it still wan’t sufficient for what I wanted to do and also for my quickly developing prop collection.  So on to our third renovation for the studio, this time a much bigger one.  We added onto the building a huge shooting area complete with a cathedral ceiling.  It is a beautiful, airy space, designed in shade of grey and tiffany blue.  Chandeliers are a common theme throughout the studio and it is styled in what I call vintage glam!  We still have some work to do.  This summer will be opening up the new entrance to the studio and providing a small outdoor area for clients to relax or play with their kids if they need a small break from a shoot!  This studio has really been a labour of love.  I want to thank my husband RJ, who made my dream a reality.  He always makes my visions come alive.  Thanks babe!!! So take a look and see what we have done!

The newest addition to our studio. Done completely my husband. He is an amazing guy. I wanted a big shooting space with a nice high ceiling. The natural light is gorgeous in here as well!

Our beautiful consult area. It is completely different from what I originally pictured but I love it. It is a mix of vintage with a little glam thrown in.

I love details and I looked for very specific things to put in the studio. The couch was a must and I waited a whole year to get it! I love the small accents of tiffany blue thrown in

Our own version of craft services!lol We have coffee, tea, juice and even wine available for our clients and some yummy snacks for the kids….ok lets just call them bribes.

Self admitted chandelier addict. Found this little one online and it is perfect for over our service bar.

Our patio door which clients currently enter through…this will be changing this year though.

My assistant Brea has a touch of ocd when it comes to colour coordinating so she is the reason it looks so pretty. These are all our fabric backdrops we use for newborns. Lots to choose from

Speaks for itself

So this is the other side of the studio where we meet with clients for consultations.

Another chandelier I found

You can see where our new entrance will be this coming summer! Right now we have lots of backdrops stored in that corner
Our blue lounge couch is perfect to sit and watch us do our thing!

On of our canvas walls and artwork displayed

We have this hanging in our studio and it starts a lot of conversations about what it is….well it is to represent how we treat our photos now, just leaving them on files on our computers and hard drives and phone…..wouldn’t it look much better with a print there???

Ok so when I decided I wanted a cathedral ceiling in the studio, my husbnad asked me if that was for better lighting…..I said yes….but I really wanted it so I could hang up this gorgeous find!!
