So this wedding is a favourite of mine for so many reasons! First of all because of Josie, Soumik and their families. They are the nicest group of people and they welcomed us into their homes, cultural and traditions with ease. Over the three days that their wedding took place we were dazzled by not only the colours, sincere vows and customs preformed during the ceremonies but the love that was evident not only between Josie and Soumik, but the love their families have for them. It truely was a family affair! Our weekend started on Friday night at the Sangeet, which is a pre party of sorts to welcome guests and this is when all the ladies have the beautiful henna done. The Saturday was a beautiful day, with a very early to rise bride! there are so many important ceremonies throughout the day we had to get an early start. Once Josie was ready in her amazing red and gold gown, we headed over to the Hindu Temple and proceeded with the Bangle ceremony inside with Josie, while the Barat started outside with the arrival of the groom! This part of the day is filled with music and dancing and celebration, it is SO MUCH FUN! Then Soumik participated in the ribbon ceremony and this is where he must prove his worth the woman of the family that he is worthy of his bride. His tasks included, promising to buy cotton candy and singing a rendition of happy birthday to the guest! lol. The wedding ceremony took place next and was so beautiful as Josie and Soumik promised to love and respect one another for all time. After the ceremony we were of to the Dholi ceremony. This is where the bride leaves her parents house for the last time! It was an emotional moment for all! The next day was time for the wedding creative photo session and the reception! The reception was done in an amazing theme of the peacock, which is the national bird of India. We were treated to a delicious meal, heartfelt speeches and quite a few dance and singing prerormances from various family members. It was a weekend to remember. We want to wish this amazing couple and their families best wishes for the future and a lifetime of love and happiness! A big thank you an amazing team that weekend , especially to my second shooter Danielle Rorai who helped me capture this spectacular event!
