As a Windsor wedding photographer we often get to photograph weddings of people we know and once in awhile a very special wedding comes along. Vanessa and Naseem’s day was one of those. I was honoured to be able to shoot one of my best friend’s sister’s wedding this past summer. The morning was very calm and relaxed as all the girls got ready. Vanessa is a very calm, gentle person to begin with so I knew she would be the essence of an elegant bride. Her gorgeous gown was stunning, sporting a deep illusion neck line. One of my favourite moments of the morning was Vanessa showing her Nona that she has sewed flowers and ribbons from her grandmothers dress into her dress and veil. It was such a touching moment to be a part of! They did their first look at the Art Gallery of Windsor overlooking the skyline of Detroit, where they live! It was such a great moment when Naseem saw his bride for the first time. We did the creative session at the Art Gallery and Dieppe Park and then headed over to the church. The ceremony was a traditional catholic ceremony , and the couple exchanged the vows in front of all of their families and friends. The reception was held at the St Clair Center for the Arts in the gorgeous skyline room. The entrance into the reception was done in a traditional Caldean fashion with drummers getting the part started! The couple danced over to the cake to cut it for the first time as husband and wife! The evening was filled with dancing, laughing, great food and drinks and a fantastic time was had by all. We wish Vanessa and Naseem the very best in all their years to come!
