A Rustic Barn Wedding at Heritage Village Transportation Museum | Windsor, Ontario Wedding Photographer
Some weddings are special because of the little things that make them uniquely you — and this rustic wedding at Heritage Village Transportation Museum in Windsor, Ontario, was full of personality, love, and a whole lot of four-legged charm!
As a Windsor wedding photographer, I love seeing couples create a wedding day that reflects who they are, and this celebration was the perfect combination of rustic charm, laid-back fun, and heartfelt moments.
Rustic Charm, Barn Details & Sunflowers
With rustic barn-inspired decor and cheerful sunflowers throughout, the wedding had a relaxed, country-inspired atmosphere that felt warm and inviting. The natural charm of Heritage Village Transportation Museum provided a beautiful backdrop for a celebration that was less about formality and more about spending an incredible day surrounded by the people — and pets — they love most.
The sunflowers were the perfect finishing touch, adding pops of golden yellow and complementing the rustic setting beautifully. It was the kind of wedding where everyone could relax, enjoy themselves, and celebrate without anything feeling overly complicated or fussy.
Three Very Special Wedding Guests: Eddie, Bentley & Wampa!
Of course, one of the biggest highlights of the day was the couple’s three dogs: Eddie, Bentley, and Wampa!
Including their beloved dogs made the celebration even more personal. After all, pets are family, and for couples who consider their dogs part of their everyday lives, having them involved in the wedding day just makes sense!
As a photographer, I always love when couples incorporate the things that matter most to them into their wedding photos. These three pups were an especially sweet addition to the celebration and helped make the day that much more memorable.
A Wedding That Gave Back
One of the most meaningful details of this wedding was the couple’s decision to make donations to the Windsor/Essex County Humane Society.
With three dogs of their own included in the festivities, supporting animals in need was such a thoughtful way to share their happiness with the wider community. It was a beautiful reminder that a wedding can be about more than celebrating two people coming together — it can also be an opportunity to give back to a cause close to their hearts.
I always appreciate seeing couples find ways to make their wedding day reflect their values, and this was such a lovely touch.
BBQ, Campfire & S’mores!
The relaxed, rustic theme continued into the reception, where a BBQ-inspired meal kept things casual and delicious. Rather than a traditional, formal wedding dinner, the atmosphere was all about good food, good company, and enjoying time together.
And the fun didn’t stop after dinner!
Later in the evening, guests gathered around the fire for s’mores — because honestly, what goes better with a rustic barn wedding than toasted marshmallows, melted chocolate, and a little campfire magic?
It was the perfect way to wind down the evening, share some laughs, and make memories with family and friends. Those personal touches are often what make a wedding truly unforgettable.
Photographing Weddings That Feel Like YOU
From the sunflower details and rustic barn-inspired decor to Eddie, Bentley, and Wampa stealing some of the spotlight, this wedding was a wonderful reminder that there is no single way a wedding day has to look.
Your wedding can be elegant, rustic, casual, whimsical, or a little bit of everything. It can include your favourite meal, your beloved pets, a campfire, or anything else that makes the day feel like yours.
As a Windsor and Essex County wedding photographer, my goal is to capture the real moments, meaningful details, and genuine emotions that tell the story of your day — so you can look back on your photographs and remember not just what everything looked like, but how it all felt.
Congratulations to this wonderful couple! Thank you for allowing me to capture such a personal,
