Fogolar Wedding | Jillian Wilhelm Photography | Jake & Calie

As a Windsor wedding photographer one of the great things about shooting weddings is getting meet a whole bunch of amazing people.  I actually meet a lot of my clients at other weddings that I am shooting and thats what happened with Calie and Jake.  Calie had emailed me about her wedding , hearing about us through a mutual friend.  We set up a consult but we actually got to meet at a wedding before that.  I was shooting the wedding and Calie and Jake were guests!  We had a great conversation about their Fogolar wedding and got to know each other a bit and upon leaving, I was super excited about the possibility of working with this couple.  They were friendly, outgoing, gorgeous and seemed like a whole lot of fun!

Fast forward to 2018 and their wedding day!  It was a colder and rainy day but that did not dampen the party spirit this couple or their group of friend had! The girls got ready at Calie and Jake’s place where the fireball flowed and the excitement palpable.  Calie’s gown was absolutely amazing.  The back of the dress was simply stunning and the slim fit was just perfect for her! Nikki, was with the guys in the morning and we knew it would be a fun filled morning! Complete with drinks, a “stanley cup” and a great group of guys, the photos will speak for themselves!  Jake and Calie had decided to do a first look at the place where Jake proposed on the Gnatchio Trail.  When Calie was walking up behind Jake, the most noticeable thing was how neither of them could stop grinning.  It was a sweet, beautiful moment seeing these two lay eyes on each other for the first time!

Onto the creative portion of the day!  Right after the first look the skies opened up and it started to pour.  So we made very good use of the overpass tunnel, which resulted in some pretty cool rain shots.  Once the rain slowed we managed to capture some beautiful images in the fall colours.  We headed over to their wedding ceremony, held at JP Wisers and captured them exchange their vows in front of all of their family and friends!  We hung around afterwards for some more creative shots at the distillery.  Jake and Calie are constantly having fun together.  They are always laughing and smiling and even encouraging each others shananigans! However, let me tell you they absolutely can turn it on for the camera. They are so easy to photograph as you will see below.  They are also so blessed to have an amazing group of friends that were nothing but funny and up for anything all day!

The  reception was held at Fogolar and was indeed a party for the ages.  Jake served as the announcer for all the entrances and the evening was filled with heartfelt speeches, an amazing meal, dancing and a good time had by all.  With the party in full swing, the groom ended up djing and the bride singing into the mic! It was a great party!  We are so lucky to have met Jake and Calie and we wish them a lifetime of getting into trouble together, laugher and love! Congratulations.
